Psychological design consultancy for tabletop games
We help publishers and studios make games that are built on evidence and honest about what they can do.
What we do for studios
Design review against the literature
We read your game's design alongside the psychological research and tell you where it holds up and where it doesn't.
Language that matches the science
We help you name mechanics and components, so the terms you use match what the research means by them.
Defensible marketing and packaging
We check the claims on your box and in your marketing against the evidence before they go to print.
Player research
We run studies with the people you're designing for and report what they tell us.
Written feedback on prototypes
We give iterative written feedback as your prototype develops, round by round.

Who you're working with
Gray Atherton and Liam Cross are psychologists at the University of Plymouth. We write and consult as ADHD and autistic academics, so our advice draws on our own experience as well as the research literature.
Dixit Access+ with Asmodee

We co-designed an accessible edition of Dixit for Asmodee's Access+ line of disability-friendly games.
Current work
Boardovea
Exploring mindfulness in a puzzle game.
FIRAH (French Institute of Disability Research)
Creating a white paper on the benefits of games for autistic children.
Tell us about your game
Share a few details and we'll reply by email. Early ideas are as welcome as finished prototypes.
